the time of death

my playgroup has all but withered to an unusable stump from a once mighty team of somewhat focused members. It seems this time of year comes around every year though, is it just me and my playgroup or have others noticed this as well? Is this slump due to the qualification season being completed or is the last expansion not fresh and new any longer?

I guess what I am asking is how do you keep your playgroups fresh and interested in the game during these down periods? I am ruled out of this year's championships and majors, due to tremendous personal strife this season. I would like to begin preparing for the next tournament season and really have a good showing, unfortunately I am meeting with little success on the local support side. We have only managed 2 games in the last month and those were small. Last month I could feel a crescendo building, I was excited and it seemed others were as well, but that has all but failed now.

I need some new and fresh ideas to get the group inspired, this is a call for help!!

  1. Use past Storyline events

You might also consider playing the past Storylines if you didn't participate in them before, e.g. "Millenium Cultist" or the "Prophecies League". They are quite fun to play and offer a diversion from regular play.

  2. good ideas

thanks for the support, I am going to begin a marketing campaign to drum up more interest in the area. I will detail this in another podcast. Stay tuned, I will definitely be working on some more podcasts soon.

  4. Time of Renewal

As holidays approach and school gets harder for students, there are frequently blank periods between October and February. This is a good time to court new players that have played other, similar, games.

I would recommend looking to see if any of these could help your specific situation:

There was some discussion on the newsgroup as well:
