my firewire card arrived, and believe it or not I felt more stupid as I looked to plug in the camcorder, I discovered another port in another area on the camcorder that did indeed have a mini-USB port. So there was NO need for this firewire card that took forever to arrive.
In any case I have transfered all of the video to my computer and will be starting some video editing after i get the site back up to snuff. I am no video editing professional and in fact this will be my first attempt so bear with me and let me know what you guys think. If you are having any problems with bandwidth for the microcasts/podcasts let me know because this video would definitely be a lot bigger. I am tentatively going to encode it using the XVID codec. If there are any clear preferences in video format, let me know in the comments.
I anticipate further video content in the future and I will work on some video tutorials as well for our young players.
